Headline: A New Day!
Blessings All! In the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Peace be to you and yours! Happy New Year! Something good is going to happen to you today! Today’s Good news story from God’s news desk is called A New Day! With another year come and gone, good or bad we need to leave the past in the past and know this is a new year and a new day. A time for fresh beginnings, to start over. Do you know everyday is a new beginning with God? We can’t live on yesterdays victories or especially yesterdays mistakes. We must learn that everyday is a new day with God. If you are having a hard time leaving your mistakes or yesterday behind. I got good news for you straight from God’s news desk. Let me show you! If you got a Bible get it and underline these scriptures.
First let’s talk about not looking back and dwelling on the past or our mistakes. Over in Genesis God gave us a warning about what looking behind us or dwelling in the past will do to us. Genesis 19:17 New King James Version : So it came to pass, when they had brought them outside, that he said, “Escape for your life! Do not look behind you nor stay anywhere in the plain. Escape to the mountains, lest you be destroyed.” And we know what happen to Lot’s wife when she looked back. Verse 26 : But his wife looked back behind him, and she became a pillar of salt. Looking back literally killed Lot’s wife. If we keep looking back at our mistakes and living in our yesterdays we can’t move forward and it will destroy us. No matter what mistakes you have made God will forgive you if you just go and ask Him. Over in 1 John 1:9 (Contemporary English Version): But if we confess our sins to God, he can always be trusted to forgive us and take our sins away. Isn’t that awesome? And you know something He doesn’t stop there He not only forgives us but He forgets our sin! Isaiah 43:25 (Amplified Bible): I, even I, am He Who blots out and cancels your transgressions, for My own sake, and I will not remember your sins.
Now that is good news if I have ever heard any. So Let’s start this new year leaving the past behind what do you say? If you don’t know Jesus just ask Him to forgive you of your sins right now and be your Lord. Or if you do know Him and have been away its time to come back. Ask Him to forgive you and get right back on track. I will leave you with these promises. Lamentations 3:22-23 (New Living Translation) : The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning. Ecclesiastes 11:7 (New Living Translation): Light is sweet; how pleasant to see a new day dawning.
